Starting a week from today, we kick off just over a month of intense activity for the Luxembourg financial technology community. A selection of connected events, tying together all parts of the Luxembourg ecosystem, as well as bringing in partners and startups from all over the world. Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on:
May 14: Our calendar kicks off with the first Luxembourg workshop of Fintech Europe, a unique investment readiness program that has been produced in collaboration with PayPal, Village Capital, Middlegame Ventures and signals Open Studios. Fintech Europe’s goal is to foster a new generation of fully compliant financial solutions tailored for the digital age centered on the financial health of institutions, consumers, and businesses.
May 15-16: In the middle of the Fintech Europe workshop, we have the fantastically timed ICT Spring. As one of Europe’s largest tech conferences, it is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase everything Luxembourg has to offer for Fintech. As well as local startups, we’ll have Fintech Europe program members, international partners, and international startups joining us. The goal of the conference is described as facilitating the meeting of minds and encouraging networking with industry leaders, and that is certainly our plan
June 1: Perhaps the biggest event of the year is the grand opening of Luxembourg’s new innovation hub, the House of Startups. Bringing together stakeholders from right across Luxembourg’s ecosystem, from the government corporates, academia, startups, and those (like LHoFT) that exist as facilitators inbetween. It will be a grand celebration of the progress made toward making Luxembourg one of the top (Fin)tech hubs in Europe, and a celebration of the exitement ahead of us.
June 4-6: Europe’s biggest Fintech conference, and certainly an important one for the LHoFT: Money20/20 Europe is an opportunity for us to get together with other hubs across the continent, and further our mission to promote international collaboration and cooperation. To this end, we’re hosting the first European ‘Fin & Tonic‘ networking event, together with B-Hive and KPMG.
June 11-13: Moneyconf is a staple event for the world of financial technology, and this year is no different. LHoFT will be there as a Silver Sponsor, with a stand large enough to host and represent various partners and members from the LHoFT community. Those joining us will have access to more than five thousand attendees from all over the world, as well as an incredible range of experts and investors.
June 11-14: At the same time as Moneyconf, we’ll be hosting the final workshop of Fintech Europe. Having recieved input from potential partners, clients, investors and mentors throughout the course of the program, the twelve participants will bring it all together to sharpen their proposition. Culminating in an evening of pitches and cocktails with the Luxembourg community and international partners, there is a huge opportunity for those involved.
June 20: Last but certainly not least are the Luxembourg Fintech Awards, presented by KPMG Luxembourg and LHoFT. This annual event is the highlight of the year, during which hundreds of applications are reduced down to a selection of finalists, judged by a panel of experts, and awards are given to the top three (as well as a special award dedicated to Financial Inclusion for this year’s awards). Another evening that brings together stakeholders from across the Luxembourg community, it is not to be missed.
