Covid-19 has given rise to a lot of uncertainty – many known unknowns. All sectors of business and life are being affected, including the future of financial services, Fintech and the resulting drive on venture capital investment in the sector.

Mark Whitcroft is a Fintech focused venture capital investor with Illuminate financial, based in London. He will provide his insights on the trends in Fintech and how Covid-19 is impacting their investment strategy, where they see opportunities being driven by the unprecedented circumstances we are living in, and where the challenges are for them as investors and for the Fintech sector as a whole.

Mark Whitcroft is one of the Founding Partners at Illuminate Financial Management, a venture firm focused on enterprise fintech and software for financial markets. Mark sits on the Boards of a number of Illuminate portfolio companies. He is also part of the Fintech Advisory Panel for the UK’s Investment Association (IA). Prior to Illuminate, he was involved in a number of financial accelerators (StartUpBootCamp, ValueStream Labs and a mentor for Deutsche Bank in the Accenture FinTech Innovation Lab in New York. Mark spent twelve years in various fixed income capital market roles at Deutsche Bank and HSBC based in New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and London. Mark is Alumni of University College London and Harvard Business School.
