THE SPEAKERS

Mark Post

Mark Post has a medical degree and a PhD in Pulmonary Pharmacology. He has been an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Professor of Vascular Physiology at Maastricht University and Professor of Angiogenesis in Tissue Engineering at the TU/e. He soon became involved in a Dutch government-funded program investigating “in vitro meat”, which resulted in the world’s first lab-grown burger in 2013. In October 2015, Post and food technologist Peter Verstrate announced the launch of their company Mosa Meat, which seeks to bring cultured meat on the market in 2020.

Gabrielle Inzirillo

Gabrielle is an investor at Plug And Play and an expert in POC-to-Production processes within financial institutions.

Her responsibilities include identifying high-priority fintech solutions, accelerating pilots and following their subsequent integration within banks and FIs across Plug And Play’s EMEA presence in Paris, Frankfurt and Abu Dhabi. In parallel she provides VC funding to early-stage fintech and insurtech startups in the European space along with expertise in scaling and access to new markets.

Prior to this she designed and executed the open innovation process at Citi FinTech launching high-impact programs to crowdsource fintech and regtech solutions and built financial products at Bloomberg.

She is a frequent speaker at leading conferences (Finovate, Money2020 among others) and has authored a number of whitepapers and articles on innovation in the financial industry.

Dr. Roeland Dietvorst

Dr. Roeland Dietvorst has a background in biological and cognitive psychology and obtained a PhD in neuroscience. He is founder and responsible for research & development at Alpha.One, a neuroscience research and strategy firm. Roeland uses insights and techniques adopted from neuroscience to better understand how we reconstruct reality inside our minds and how this process influences our day-to-day decision-making. In addition, he and the team at Alpha.One are applying Artificial Intelligence and deep learning in particular, to read the mind from neuroimaging data and build models that simulate human responses such as visual attention. Roeland works for the government and international brands such as Uber, IKEA, and TomTom to help them understand how people derive value from communication and value propositions. His central focus is on how the brain processes information and how this leads to value perception and behavior change.
