She succeeds Nasir  Zubairi, who stepped down in July 2026 after leading the LHoFT since its inception. Over the past decade, he played a significant role in developing a thriving Fintech ecosystem in  Luxembourg.

Ms Nagata brings more than two decades of experience across banking, asset  management, consulting and regulated digital-asset businesses, the last thirteen years of  it in Luxembourg’s financial centre.

She joins from Zodia Custody (Europe), where as Managing Director she led the firm’s MiCA  and PSD2 authorisation with the CSSF. She previously served as COO and then CEO of  bitFlyer Europe, and since 2025 has been President of LËTZBLOCK, the Luxembourg  Blockchain & DLT Association, where she launched a regular public-private dialogue with  the government and industry.

Earlier, she spent seven years at Mitsubishi UFJ Investor Services & Banking (Luxembourg),  working across IT planning, business development, and a robotic process automation  programme. Her career also includes senior strategic marketing roles at Goldman Sachs  Asset Management in Tokyo and BNP Paribas CIB in London, having begun her career at  McKinsey & Company.

Ms Nagata holds an MBA from HEC Paris and a law degree from Keio University.

Minister of Finance Gilles Roth, Chair of the LHoFT Board, said: “Having played an  instrumental role in setting up regulated crypto and digital asset businesses in  Luxembourg, Ami Nagata brings the right private sector experience as well as deep  knowledge of digital transformation processes in financial services to drive the next phase  of the LHoFT’s development. As Chairman, I look forward to working with Ami and the  LHoFT team to help drive innovation in financial services and prepare the future of our  financial centre.”

Ami Nagata said: “I am really honoured to take on this role and contribute to the future of  Luxembourg’s financial centre. LhoFT has built a strong foundation over the past decade,  and I look forward to building on what has already been achieved. I believe that working  together is key to success, and my priority will be to listen to the needs of our ecosystem  and find ways to better support financial institutions and fintech companies. I look forward  to working with the LHoFT team, the Board, and our partners to continue developing  Luxembourg’s financial innovation ecosystem.”
