About our speakers:

Dr. Andreea Monnat is Deputy CEO of the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), the main funder of public research in Luxembourg. She has designed and implemented large technology transfer and entrepreneurship programs that help bridge the technical and funding gap between research-driven discoveries and their potential for commercialization and utilization, developing and promoting strong collaborations between various stakeholders, including the public and private sectors. She considers herself as a tech and space aficionado.

Stefan Berend is Head of Start-up Acceleration at Luxinnovation GIE. He’s in charge of the Fit4Start programme powered by the Ministry of the Economy, that has attracted 1000s of European startups to turn their attention to Luxembourg. Stefan and his team have also been highly active in the set up support systems and additional programs to help the startup ecosystem during the current pandemic.

Dr. Radu State is the Head of the research group SEDAN at the SnT and Professor at the University of Luxembourg. His main research interests are in the areas of Blockchain, Big Data Systems and Network Security and has developed multiple industry partnerships attracting important competitive co-funded projects worth million euros in the past years. His ambition has now switched from applied research to spin-off development to create both entrepreneurship success story and generate high skill job opportunities for PhD graduates. Radu has also been active in disseminating and promoting science and technology to a larger audience.  He has organized several meetups and hackathons in Fintech as a modest contribution within in a larger effort to establish Luxembourg as a leading place for innovation in Fintech.

Younis Hijazi is an Exponential Innovation Manager. Younis holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany and went to Singularity University in California. He has been involved in innovation and EU funding for 10+ years. He worked 8 years for the Luxembourg innovation agency as Horizon 2020 programme committee representative, National Contact Point and Brussels office representative. At Zaz Ventures, he leads the business development effort for the EIC Accelerator and won 2 cases so far. He also has his own consultancy company specialized in exponential transformation where he works with startups, multinationals and governments, helping them achieve 10X performance.
