Get inspired and discover the latest trends and most innovative solutions! \nThe EU Open Data Days comprise : \n\n\nEU DataViz 2021 addresses the needs of the EU’s public sector engaged in open data and data visualisation. It provides a platform to explore the latest trends in open data and data visualisation – a crucial tool to explore and explain complex information in a meaningful way.\n\n\nEU Datathon 2021 allows the tech community to put into practice the open data produced by the EU institutions\, agencies and bodies and to showcase its value. Previous editions of EU Datathon have shown that the potential of open data\, combined with talent and creativity\, is limitless !

DESCRIPTION:What is it about?\nThe fifth edition of EU Datathon\, the open data competition\, has been launched on the Open Data Day on 5 March 2021. \nOnline from Luxembourg to the world\, it is organised by the Publications Office of the European Union as part of the first EU Open Data Days which includes also EU DataViz. \nTo take part\, you should propose the development of an application that links and uses open datasets. \nYour application should showcase opportunities for concrete business models or social enterprises. It is also expected to find suitable new approaches and solutions to help Europe achieve important goals set by the European Commission through the use of open data. \nSubmit your proposal by 21 May. \nWhat are the challenges?\n\nChallenge 1: ‘A European Green Deal’\nChallenge 2: ‘An economy that works for people’\nChallenge 3: ‘A Europe fit for the digital age’\n\nWhat are the prizes?\nThis is your chance to demonstrate the potential that open data present in today’s society and\, of course\, your creativity and talent. It is also your chance to claim your share of the total prize fund amounting to EUR 99 000. \nNine winning teams\, three teams per challenge\, will be shortlisted. If you are among them\, you will be invited to develop your application and present it online on 25 November. \nThe final ranking of the winning teams for each challenge will be decided at this event and the teams will be awarded the following prizes for each of the challenges: \n\nFirst place: EUR 18 000\nSecond place: EUR 10 000\nThird place: EUR 5 000
